Hey hey,
Today is a different post, but I'm super excited about it and hopefully I can do more of these in the future! It's a DIY; a fashion DIY to be specific! I follow some really cool DIYers on Youtube and Instagram, and saw one of my favorites Orly Shani aka The DIY Designer create these really pretty pearl heels.
I've seen this trend a lot recently and once I watched her video, I knew I had to try it out myself. This is not my idea/DIY; I just wanted to share how this project turned out, and show you that the awesome DIY's you see can be done by you too!
These were some of inspiration photos that I saved from Instagram. Elina Linardaki is a luxury shoe brand based out of Athens, Greece. Alameda Turquesa is also a luxury brand based out of Portugal. Lena, aka panthere_instyle is luxury fashion account I follow and these sandals she posted are from Chanel.
Here is Orly's DIY version! I just loved how pretty and delicate they looked. They are really so simple and can be done on any type of shoe; a sandal, heel, flat, or even boots!
Check her out on Instgram @orlyshani and @thediydesigner and on Youtube at The DIY Designer.
I decided to use a couple pairs of old sandals that I wasn't really wearing anymore. You can thrift a pair, or find some inexpensive sandals anywhere really. You just want them to be relatively plain, so you can customize them!
Watch Orly's video here, and you can see how easily she makes it. You can do any design, with any color pearls. You could even do other appliques like crystals or studs, whatever floats your boat. I highly recommend checking out her Youtube channel because she's got loads of fun fashion DIYs!

Here's what ya need!
Flat back pearls (your choice of color)
GemTac glue (or any other jewel glue)
Jewel picker (to pick up pearls)
It's as easy as:
Figuring out your design
Laying down dots/lines of glue
Picking up pearl with jewel picker and placing down on shoe
TIP! Use a piece of tape to take off any residue on jewel picker if it's no longer picking up pearls.
TIP! Lay down lines of glue for larger pearls, and dots for smaller pearls.
TIP! You can move pearls around a bit if they don't lay right the first time.
TIP! Don't press pearls too hard on shoe, it can cause them to move or not stick.
I put together a quick little video to share on Instagram, so you can reference it there or here on the blog if you want to make the DIY! Here's how my version turned out!
I hope you enjoyed this DIY recreation! I'm so happy with how they came out, and it's got me thinking about what other DIYs I can recreate! Did you like this style of post? Should I do more? Let me know! If you recreate this DIY, share it with me @missmangaroo and tag Orly @orlyshani @thediydesigner too!
Stay stylish,
